Karen Raingold
I was born and raised in London and have lived there all my life, apart from three years spent studying in Bristol. Originally a fine artist, I have spent recent years adapting my style and techniques to the field of illustration. This background has lead me to use a range of mediums in my work, including collage, acrylic and watercolor paint, inks, pen, digital software and pastel.
I studied illustration at London College of Communication, part of the University of the Arts. As well as being interested in book and magazine illustration, I have enjoyed commissions where I have created illustrations for websites, flyers and t-shirts. I have also exhibited at the famous Roundhouse in Camden. My work is inspired by London’s urban landscape, my love of traveliing and jazz, soul and blues music, amongst many things.
