Nicole Ostheimer
Born and bred in Germany, I escaped my lovely rural idyll because I thought it might just be as wonderful to get a fresh breeze, and let my creative juices flow somewhere else. After a little crafty escape in joinery and embarking on art college to study sculpture, I soon realized that product design might be just the right thing to wrap in all my ideas. So I went to St Martin’s College in order to become a grand designer and create worlds which have never been created before.
I had a great time there, but after finishing my degree, I realized soon, that it would make me much happier to simply draw, because I’m basically: 1. Lazy, 2. You can build far more beautiful worlds with a pen and 3. I was drawing all my life anyway, so why not just keep it straight. . . ..deep in my soul I’m really just a frustrated dancer but this is another story.
So have a look at my website to get more of an idea what I’ve been working on and to be up to date. I do love images, crazy images, which have an edge and still maintain a lightness, hopefully touching on a story of our weird little lives . . . I do love film a lot, did I already say that?
